We recently came across a cool start-up called GoLoCo, which is a social network that helps people arrange shared car trips among friends, neighbors and colleagues. The GoLoCo network uses a system of alerts to notify its members whenever friends or interest groups are going to places that they are interested in going to. You can register to find a colleague to share your commute to work with, join a “School Pool” for coordinating carpools with other parents, find a religious group to share trips to church, find fans to share rides with to sporting events and so much more.
The website touts the service’s money saving benefits, but think about the potential a service like this could have in terms of saving gas and pollution from automobiles! What a great idea!!
