A Smart(er) Car

Is it a car? A golf cart? A people conveyer? In fact, this eco-friendly biodiesel vehicle may be the future mode of transportation for city dwellers. Developed by a team of 28 students from the Rhode Island School of Design and Brown University, the Coda (its name refers to a musical term meaning “to go back to the beginning”) is a compact, affordable, renewable fuel-powered vehicle designed for urban commuters. Small (98” long by 5’ wide), efficient (100+ mpg), and no-frills (it seats two people), the Coda could potentially help ease traffic congestion, help lower air pollution, and inflict less wear on city roads.
